The experiences, lessons and discoveries that shaped who I am and how I support others.
The Journey That Brought Me Here
Developing My Approach
I studied at the East Anglian Institute of Hypnotherapy and qualified in 2019. The training was largely underpinned with psychotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming. Additionally, I trained in Thought Field Therapy which is a gentle but powerful body-based practice which works so well with the mind-based modalities. CPD is a continuing and required element of the work I do.

I have used these therapeutic modalities to support numerous clients in my private practice, witnessing some amazing transformations And I love what I do helping people make positive change.

We are not meant to live a life filled with stress, anxiety, depression and countless other emotional and physical challenges. If I can support people to change their world by helping them understand there is nothing ‘wrong’ with them and that they are not their symptoms or labels then I will keep doing what I’m doing. Pathologising and medicalising people’s painful emotional experiences is not the way to heal a broken society.

Where My Journey Began
We are all shaped by our childhood experiences and I was no different. When you’re raised as a child to believe you’re a problem, that you’re an embarrassment, that you don’t deserve to be loved and that you’re not good enough just as you are, it unconsciously alters your perception of who you think you are.

My mother took some delight keeping me in check by shaming me. Her behaviours and unkind words towards me continued into adulthood and it was a heavy weight to carry. Why would your own mother treat you so badly and why did my father never step in to hold her accountable? Psychotherapy revealed the answers years later. She died when I was 39.
An Unexpected Path to Psychology
I was a horse mad child but it wasn’t until my mid thirties that I was able to buy my own horse. This horse had a number of difficult behaviours but I loved him with all my heart. And it was this horse that set me off on a journey of discovering horse psychology.

When you start looking into horse behaviour you have to do a lot of self-reflection and personal growth which can be quite eye opening. I began informally studying human psychology and eventually went on to formally study and gain a professional qualification.
Still Learning
Today, I’m fortunate enough to have a beautiful Thoroughbred mare. She’s an ex-racehorse so comes with the physical and emotional issues you may expect from the start she had in life. Imagine retiring at just 4 years old.

She’s very sweet, intelligent, sensitive and has a mind of her own. She’s going to teach me a whole new level of patience, compassion, kindness, waiting, slowing down, breathing, calm, relaxation, expectations, boundaries and so much more.

The very same things that people need more of!
